Do I need to add another row to the bottom of this baby quilt? Or maybe another row to the side? The quilt is already 30 x 36 without 2" borders on all sides.

Only if you want it bigger. It is adorable and would look wonderful if you just finished it off with the pink border.

I would keep it as is if that's about the size you want. A row at the bottom would make it awfully long and skinny. A row on the side would be better to me (if you really wanted to add more blocks) but some people don't like square quilts.

It is precious just the way it is. Are the hearts needle-turn applique or ironed on?

They are ironed on and appliquéd stitched.

If you make it much bigger you will have to piece the backing. I would leave it. 34x40 is a nice size for baby.

I don't thinbk you need extra rows for a baby quilt. It's beautiful.

I usually make baby quilts 36" x 48".

Your quilt is so sweet and I think the size is fine. My 2 nieces asked me to make their baby quilts smaller than crib size. They said the smaller size would be just right for covering the baby in the car seat or for wrapping the baby up in and not having to carry around a larger size quilt.

Last one I did was about 38 by 40. just did have enough backing with so I didn't have to piece it. If it were me, I wouldn't want a baby quilt that wasn't almost square. I think of a baby quilt is one you lay the baby on in the middle, bring one corner up and then the two side over top wrap then up in it. You have the top corner to bring down over the head when going outdoors. Could do that very easily if it was rectangular.
