About to quilt my first quilt top...have a question.
 

What quilting design lends itself to batik fabrics and is easy to do for a beginner. I have a lap quilt I'm about to start quilting and would like to do it myself. Need some advise from the experienced FMQ in the forum. Thanks much, Julie:thumbup:

You want to avoid quilting across seams as much as possible. Batik is made of fabric with a tighter weave, so it can be more difficult to hand quilt than other cotton fabrics. Is the batik on both the top and the backing?

Hope it goes well. I am waiting on extension kit to hand quilt a double wedding ring quilt.....gonna be stitching a lot of time from then on!
