AccuQuilt Go cutter
I am looking to purchase an AccuQuilt Go cutter but am not in a hurry. Do they ever come on sale? Is it worth the wait for a sale?
Not so much sale but they sometimes offer packages - including dies and such...
And now that I've typed that I think they were just on sale in the past month or so ... about $30-$50 off... I guess just watch and wait... |
get on their mailing list, they will notify you of all offers
I found mine on Craigslist.
It seems to me I remember them having a big sale last October or November ...but I was too wishy washy and now wish I had scooped one up.
I got mine at Joann's for $249.00 when they were on sale. I got the Go Baby for $59.00 a couple of years before from Joann's.
Unfortunately for you, they had $100 off in December on the bigger electric one. (No hand cranking). Sign up on their website and you will get notifications of specials. They send more emails than you might want but you can stay on top of sales. I work at a quilt shop and know that the dealers have to comply with the company sales and likely can't offer much else on their own,
If I know a sale will be very soon I'll wait for it but won't wait hoping for a sale. I'd rather be using and enjoying it. The main thing is I don't get upset if I buy something and next month it goes on sale.

Sewing Machines Plus has their Go cutter and free die that cuts 2 square sizes and half square triangles for $249, no tax, free shipping. Die is $ 35 value.

I have the go and the electric go. I will send the original one for free if you pay postage. It is in perfect shape but I don't use it since I purchased the electric one.
Patski, you are very generous.
If anyone wants to sell one cheap let me know.
Wow! That's a great give away!
Several guild members gave away their manual Go when they bought the electric Go Big. They donated them as door prizes. I decided to keep my manual Go as I use it more then the electric one. I like to use up calories as much as I can!
Check the Quilt in a Day site. They are having a sale right now.
In an email today I see that Quilt In a Day is having a sale.

Very generous indeed. Anyone else with one to dispose of? I'd love to help you organize your space by removing your clutter...lol Thanks!
You just missed the sale on the website I purchased mine at a retreat for $199 the original price is $249, I think it is worth the wait until the website has the sale again that what I did to get the $199. If you need it really fast see if you can get rental from local quilt shop.

If you are a Missouri Star Quilt, Jenny Doan, fan than also look at the Sizzix, they are now making dies to go with Jenny's projects. My local quilt store, who sells Babylocks, started carrying them with a really nice introductory price. I never had or used a cutter machine but this called out my name, it was my Christmas present, finally had time to use it this week (family here for Christmas) and am totally in love! So fun, it will also take the Accuquilt dies but Accuquilt can't take the Sizzix dies. I ordered 2 Accuquilt dies today from the Quilt in a Day site, good sale
I have one I have used a few times that I am willing to sell.
If interested, email me. Susie Reardon |
You have an accuquilt or a sizzix? May I inquire WHY you want to sell? I'm interested

I got the electric Go big -- I probably would have gotten the sizzix (because it can use the Go dies) but I couldn't crank the handle (too many hand and arm issues)
This is great info!
I bought the GO first, like I said before, a good 6 yrs ago now. Then when a new hobby lobby opened near me, I saw the Sizzix Big Shot...it was on sale along with some cute dies...bought it..they honored their coupon too...much easier to crank....went back about a month later and saw all dies were clearance.....bought what I didn't have in GO. Now I am really tempted to buy the Sizzix larger die cutter, I think it's the Pro..takes the larger dies..they offer some designs that accuquilt does not have....will keep watching for good price

Accuquilt and other fabric cutters
With hand and thumb joint issues I am wondering if these cutters are helpful. Is the electric the best way to go? I see all the machine names and wonder which is the most friendly and versatile. Thanks for your input. Plus even with a ruler I can veer off!

Did you sell your accuquilt go?
If you have joint issues, then electric is probably the best way to go. I have an accuquilt studio, with crank, and have arm and hand issues, but manage it without trouble most of the time. Rotary cutting is painful for me, but I can still do it when necessary.
Keep in mind that you still have to prepare your fabric befor cutting in the same manner as you prepare it for rotary cutting. Bottom line for me is that the Studio model improved my comfort and my cutting. The electric one would have improved my comfort more, no doubt. |
I bought the electric go years ago on sale. Over the years I have purchased a lot of dies, as they go on sale, a couple at a time. I dont regret it, and some times I think I use the Go more than my sewing machine,
I bought the Go and within a few weeks it went on sale. Story of my life! :D

And I do love my Electric, although I'm not a huge fan of the noise it makes when the die finishes coming out. |
I still have my go
They did have sale before Christmas and my hubby said I could but one for one of my presents. It is a manual one and I think it is easy to handle. I love it. I am working on getting my scraps in order. Wished I would have purchased one sooner.
