I loved using the go especially for rag squares. I was really excited when I found out that one could purchase an adapter to use on the Studio or Grande Mark (Sister, Accucut, but identical machine except for the sticker) and use any Go die with it. The site has up to 20% off now for National Quilting Week. The Studio weighs 55 lbs, hence is not very mobile, but cuts with the accucut go dies like a dream.

You cut strips that are longer than the die by folding your fabric accurately and shorter than the end or length of the die, so that the die won't cut the end of the folded strip.

I relly love mine, saves a lot of time!

My husband bought me the GO and 8 dies for Christmas. I cut a queen sized tumbler quilt in less than 1/2 hour and jut finished cutting squares from my scraps. So far, I am loving it!

I love to use my go for strip cutting. I do have some other dies to make shapes that I have not tried yet. I take it with me I our RV to Fl for the winter. I have to drag it out from under the bed....inconvienient. I never thought of just cutting the scraps to shape at home. That is a really great idea. I will try that when I get home in May...go sits out at home! I think my strips turn out better then when I was just using a ruler.

I meant to say that I have only used the rag quilt die so far, not the strip dies yet.

IMO, you need to watch at least 1 "how-to" video before you use the cutter ... most especially important when folding the fabric is involved.

I think this is also why I do not use it. The Go sits in a closet, the dies are in bins (always the bottom bin) in the closet. When I move into the large sewing room, I will plan a place to have the Go out and ready to be used. Right now the go is an expensive space filler for me.

I have a GO Baby. I use it to help tame my scraps by cutting 2", 3.5", 5" squares. Wish they made 1.5" and 2.5" square dies that worked for the Baby. Lots of my scraps are odd shapes and the dies save so much time that I would otherwise waste in trying to cut 2 or 3 squares from small scraps. I have a 2.5 strip die but find I don't use it often as it only cuts 2 strips and usually requires some pre-cutting.

There is an accuquilt group in Yahoo groups. Also, Ebony Love has videos on Youtube. Definitely, use the Accuquilt website. As Judy said, they have patterns on their website and I think a lot of them are free. Also, they have a newsletter that comes out and they have a free BOM going now.

Thank you for telling us this. I ordered the 2½" die so am waiting to make the strips for a baby quilt. If I hadn't read your post, I would have cut off the end of the fabric! There's so much to remember, but I think the Go and Go Baby are definetly time savers. thanks again.
