Has anyone ever tried the Accuquilt Go hexagon cutter to make hexes for a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt? I would really like to make one of these beautiful quilts, and since I have an Accuquilt Go, I thought it might make the cutting process a little faster. Any tips would be most welcome.

I have the die, haven't used it tho.. I can only imagine the cutting wouldn't be as tedious as cutting them by hand.. This die would be one Id piece by hand.. When I have plenty of time that is..

Are you going to be hand piecing? If so you can just cut squares that will go all the way around the hex.

If you are going to machine piece than the accu cut would be best as it will accurately cut the hexs.

I bought a hexagon cutter on e-bay made by Creative Memories. Creative Memories have discontinued it but their were quite a few on e-bay. It is the larger one but actually has two sizes on it. It has worked well for me.

You might check out the Yahoo group for Accuquilt. There was a long discussion about the hexagon cutter just a few weeks ago. There is alot of information from that group.

Hi Lynne,
I just noticed the post about hexagons...I have the hexagon cutter for the Sizzix..it doesn't work on the Accuquilt..but Accuquilt work on Sizzix....I have a grandmother's flower quilt that I started a couple of years ago and cut out all by hand..I bought the die because it was the same size as my hex's...I have tried it with scarp and works great...tella
