Does anyone know a store that has acid-free tissue paper for wrapping your quilt for storage?(not online because I have a big fear of buying online)

i've been shopping on line for 10 years---what are you afraid of??? i've never had a bad experience because of it being an on line transaction....and with the whole world at your fingertips it sure makes it easier to find the things you need.

clotilde's is the only place i have found it- but most art supply stores should have it or be able to order it for you- since it is used for all kinds of archival storage.

Acid-free tissue paper is not cheap ($10 for 12 sheets 30"x40" at my art supply dealer). Quilts can be stored just as safely wrapped in sheets according to the quilt preservationist I have spoken with.

I would cut up old white sheets instead -- a lot cheaper and would work just as well, maybe better. Local thrift shops are a good source. Even a cheap new sheet from Walmart would work. I'd just wash it first to remove the factory chemicals.

I never would have thought of cutting up a white sheet for storing quilts. What a great tip. I store some WIP's in plastic bins and like to wrap the fabric so it dosen't touch the plastic. I will be using sheets from now on. Thanks.
