And anyway, keeps us off the street and out of the bars:D

Even my Dr. gives me quilt ideas when I am in to see her. I must have a reputation! PS-Her Mom is a quilter too.

I totally agree with Sandy I - it does keep us off the streets and out of the bars AND I think for the most part it's still a little cheaper than therapy and much more effective.

my husband calls it quilting porn because I am so addicted

Patterns on bathroom floors, on ceilings, wallpaper, windows in buildings, light fixtures, almost everything looks like it could be a quilt or quilt block.

There is a sign often seen around here which says, "Caution, you are entering a quilting area. Quilting is known to be addictive and there is no known cure." Certainly, I am addicted. Like ckcowl, I design quilts in my sleep. When I can't quilt for a few days, I get figgitty. On the other hand, a great many children in out of home placements have benefitted from that addiction. A few people I know credit my quilts with defeating or postponing cancer deaths. My family actively encourage this peculiarity of mine. Several times, my DH has come in and asked what quilt we have available because he knows of someone who needs one. I have been quilting for slightly over 11 years, have made close to 500 and have no intention of stopping.

Addiction,,no, no , no, I say its a hobby!!!!!;)

I call it a learning curve with benifits because every day I'm learning something new pertaining to my quilting. DH doesn't seem to mind too much. In fact I made him a lovely quilt last year & he's already asking for a Mariner's Compass quilt!! We're going to have to get a bigger place to live if we're going to keep very many!! LOL!

Addicted? No, say it isn't so! Just because I sit in church and can't concentrate on what the pastor is saying because I just know I can make that stained glass window into a quilt? hehe

Who, me addicted? Just because my head is in a bin of scraps, bits stuck to my shoes, thread covers the front of whatever shirt I pulled out of the dryer, and always ready for any roadtrip that involves a fabric shop.... Nah!
