kits!! Right now I am addicted to kits, they take the guess work out of choosing coordinating fabrics and so on! I have so many of them it is crazy!!!!

I know lots of quilters like to pick out their own fabrics, but I seem to be colour challenged!!!

Off the top of my head I can count 8 kits that I have and I am sure there are more lurking in my PILE of wonderful quilting stuff!!

Anyone else out there like me?

I love kits also but this late in life I have so much fabric--before kits were thought of, I guess and are using lots of them. I have made 5 quilts from kits and have 3 more I want to do...will there be time?
I really believe kits are the way to go if you aren't building a stash. My stash is so large that I can usually find what I need there and keep up with the kits if that is what you really like. May we see one you did?

I have only bought one kit and it is on my to do list...
Yes please, post pictures of your quilts!!! :D :D :D

Love kits also!! If I love the pattern I'm braver about picking fabric for my own creation. :-)

I usually have a pattern that I want to do, so I pick fabric to make it out of. I'm not always successful with my selections, though, and I just love the look of the kits . . . all perfectly coordinated . . . I'm sure I'll be getting more than one as I progress in my quilting. I'm finding that I don't really like just buying fabric because I love the particular fabric. I can never decide what to do with it, so it doesn't get very far that way.

Enjoy your kits and show us some!

Kits are my least favorite because you can't wash the fabric. I've had and heard of to many bad experiences from not washing the fabric.

Picking out the fabric is my favorite part of quilting so I don't buy kits.

I've used quite a few kits this year as I haven't unpacked my sewing room. Waiting on a move. I buy fabric one project at a time or I buy a kit. I also buy kits for toys or dolls and then make my own thing out of whatever is in the kit. Fun.

Current WIPS:
I think I have all of the patriotic quilt kits from Connecting Threads.
I've got independently produced kits off of ebay.
I'm also working on samplers with fabrics chosen by me and chosen by others.

Thumbs up for kits.

I love kits too. I just got three from Connecting Threads and I love them. I bought a couple at the quilt show I went to this summer. Like you, I like the fact the colors have been pick out for me. I can always use the patterns to make quilts with my stash.

Ummm... wouldn't it be possible to have a kit, where you just are provided with the pattern and the appropriate yardage (extra allowed for shrinkage :) )... and then you could wash, or not wash, the fabric as you choose?

The only kit I have ever done has been Thimbleberries. Every month we get a different block pattern to do one 12 inch block and three 6 inch blocks and it comes with the fabric. This has been my only experience with kits. I usually just pick out my own fabric. More fun for me. :D :D :D

Lately I have been leaning toward the kits-just recently bought 2. I have bought so much fabric that I like but never use and now it just takes up space. I like the idea of someone picking all the fabric out for me. Much eaiser and faster.

That's the kind of kit I would buy. My friend that works at a quilting store gave me a table runner for Christmas one year. Of course I washed the fabric. One fabric shrank so much that I had to use another fabric. Now my thinking is.....if I had washed the runner after making it, would the whole thing have shrunk up like a prune? :(

They have a pattern at Walmarts that has the material listed on it.But I just get the patterns an then if I like the collors they have I would get the material or get diffrent material all together.

I bought a kit recently too! It was at Joann. And it was normally 69.99 but I had a 50% off coupon and it's for a queen sized quilt. I felt a little guilty doing it, but I got the entire thing (minus the back) for 35.00!! Havent made it yet...but Im glad other people do this too!
