Advice on block

Hello everyone. I'm new here and I have been piecing since Dec. 2015. I have completed 6 projects of which 2 were sent out for quilting and 4 which I've completed with QAYG techniques. I have a question about a block I've designed to use in a throw for my husband. It is to be in the colors of his favorite sports team. I can do the block with paper piecing, but am wondering if anyone has seen a traditionally pieced block that is similar. I like the fact that the stars are slightly askew and asymmetrical. Here is the block and current quilt design. Thank you for any advice you may render. Also, I apologize if my pictures do not come out correct. These images were produced with EQ7.

When you have a block that uses odd angles, paper piecing is the best way to go. For a traditional block, this reminds me of a friendship star.

Have you checked on quilterscache.com? She has tons of block patterns.

I agree. With weird angles, PP is the best way to go especially for accuracy. Print them out on EQ7. Many of us here on the board use EQ.

Since you want the blocks to have a secondary pattern when sewn together, you will need exact piecing. I think paper piecing would be the way to get that precision. Neat designed block!

You can easily make your own templates if you want to do "regular" piecing. It does not look that complex to me.
