Arrggh - I think my walking foot is done for. Somehow, the upper hook part, which hooks onto the screw which holds my needle in place, is somehow loosening the screw, causing my needle to come out while I am sewing. Sometimes I can put it back in, without it even coming unthreaded, but sometimes it snaps. Since I know this, I stop every few inches, check the screw to see if it needs tightening, which it never does. Then all of a sudden, it just happens.
Has this ever happened to any of you? The foot is a number of years old (maybe I bought it 7 or 8 years ago?) but I don't use it all the time.
Other than this issue, the foot functions fine - guides my sandwich evenly and all - but I am getting frustrated.
Any tips or advice?
Thanks all!

Could the problem be that the needle screw is stripped and the walking foot is fine? If the screw loosens that easily I would check that first. :?: :?:

I think I'd call my dealer....but yes, sounds like the needle screw thingie is stripped....

I doubt it is the walking foot causing it. There's so little pressure to the bar there. Have you had any trouble with breaking needles without the walking foot? Call your dealer or take it for a good cleaning, adjustment, and make sure your repairperson checks the needle screw for stripping.
