Advice needed on creating a PP pattern in an arc

I am in a Round Robin event and the prompt is to use the Dresden Plate/Fan element this month.

I want to add to the top and bottom of the piece a shallow arc, like the top 1/3 part of a Dresden Plate unit...is there some program that will draw out that arc for me and let me print it?

The piece is now about 46" wide...making it hard to create something without using digital tools.

Help/advice appreciated!!

46", wow that's going to be a challenge.
How about 2 drunkard's path blocks, set face-to-face so they make one arch?
Or maybe take some butcher paper, fold it in half, use the old pin-and-string method to draw an arc, unfold and cut, voila there's an arch you can applique.

Not really sure of what you're thinking. Is it like either of these?
That didn't go well, try, try again.

Look up Megan Collins, Retro Rainbow quilt pattern. She has other patterns showing plenty of arcs and utube videos.
You may find something helpful.

I use drawing tools in Word to create shapes. If too small, use copy feature on printer to enlarge and enlarge until I get the size that I need. Hope that is clear as mud!

Would this technique adapt to what you are thinking? https://www.13spools.com/blog/2013/0...-tutorial.html

Thankyou ladies for all the brilliant suggestions! I ended up drafting a pattern by hand with a ruler and paper and enlarging it. I had to go with a rays kind of pattern as the scraps I had were not big enough for the large blades of a Dresden Plate/Fan pattern.

Arcs are tough! They get big so fast!
