I'm looking at my Superior Threads color cards and there are several variegated options. You can go to their website to check them out. One is the "Rainbow" line and the color in that line is #831 Mediterranean or #835 Montego Bay. In the "King Tut" line, look at #927 De Nile or #930 Thebes. All of these have the blue and green colors in your quilt. I use variegated threads in most of my quilts and it always ties it all together.

I like to use a color that blends with the back and the front. I might use a different top thread for the peacock. I would use the machine and stitch through the tail feathers and around the body...so it looks like a bird on the back too. If you attempt to go with the lines of the tail feathers it will look fine even it it isn't exact. Just go slow.
This is really pretty...the colors are stunning |
I don't know about the thread color but, it sure is gorgeous.

Gorgeous quilt!! I like the idea of a variegated thread

I'm new at free-motion quilting and haven't gotten past the clear monofiliment thread on the top because I don't trust my stitches yet. I'm getting better, but I like the thread to blend in so I may never get past this stage. I use YLI brand.
