How should I join my hand quilted blocks? French seam? I am worried about getting the blocks really square. TY!

I'll be watching to see the advice you get on putting these together, Dotty. It'll be stunning when finished.

I love panseis. Can you tell me where you get this pattern. It is beactiful. Maybe you can use sashing to join the blocks in a light color.

These are iris, free from Fat Cat Patterns.

I would probably put sashing between them to give them a little definition. Beautiful blocks.

If I understand correctly, they are already hand quilted and you just want to join them together into a completed quilt, right?
To do that if I was thinking they may ont line up exactly, I would use the same method as for other quilt as you go blocks. You use a strip of fabric in the front and one on the back. Have you ever done that type of joining before? There are books on how to do it, if you have not. |
I think it's called "Color Theory" that attaches the quilted squares together, with or without sashing. I think sashing (black or very dark green) would be stunning but it might entail sandwiching those strips of sashing, too.
Check out the library for a book on it, like MaineLadybug suggested. Good luck. |
Those are beautiful Dotty! But sorry I have no idea how to put them together...
|
You can put them together with sashing that does not involve sandwiching but does involve some hand sewing. I did it once on a small table runner and it wasn't difficult. I am sure you can find instructions somewhere on the internet. I am sorry I am not able to explain exactly how it is done. Carol
