Advice Please on Altos Quick Cut 2

My DH bought me an ALtos quiltcut 2 for my birthday. Does anyone have any tips, hints or suggestions on things they may have learned? I haven't received mine yet but I'm looking forward to it. Thanks so much.

You can go to the website: www.sewezquilting.com There is a very good tutorial there.

I have rather severe arthritis in my hands and bought my Alto's many years ago. It only requires 1 pressure point to keep the cutting edge in place. It has paid it's way! I store it under my TV cabinet in my living room so I have easy access as my 'studio' is rather crowded and I cut in my living room anyway.

I feel there is more value in the QuiltCut2 than any other tool I have.

Any questions you can PM me.

It is quality made, no problem about customer service. You still have to line up the fabric perfectly on the grid line to not get the V in the strips just like you do with a regular ruler and mat. The pro is the fabric is held in place and any accidents with the rotary cutter is not likely to happen. I don't cut shapes from the strips that much. If the fabric moves at all then you have bad cuts. Practice using paper to make the shapes.

I have had mine for about two years now and use it all the time to cut strips and straighten fabric for backing. Sometimes the plastic ruler shifts when you are cutting just walk your fingers up the ruler to help keep it from shifting. I love it the best tool and money spent, glad I made the purchase.
