The bobbin thread is coming through on the top of my stitching. Have cleaned the machine , re -threaded , new needle ? :?:

Any ideas gratefully accepted .

Are you using stabilizer? Are you are using an embroidery only machine? I have one but I never change the tension. I find that if this happens is usually due to the thread or the stabilizer because the fabric may be too thin. Try using two layers of stabilizer. If you need to finish something immediately and the stitches look fine, use the same color in the top and bottom. Also, are you embroidering on a large piece of cloth? If it hangs over the sides of the machine it pulls and the bottom thread shows. Make sure the fabric outside the hoop is not pulling.

sounds like a tension problem, top too tight and or bobbin spool tension too loose, also check that bobbin correctly threaded. use same thread on top and bobbin

Will try this again have already tried altering tension.

Thanks for the advice!

I agree with the stabilizer suggestions. Also, if it's just a few stitches that show on top I use a matching fabric pen and color them - works like a charm.

The bobbin case can built up with lint and can affect your bottom tension. Check out any little corner (not corner-it's round!-crevise, maybe) or small piece with a magnifying glass to really check it out. I sometimes need to pick out lint GENTLY, with a pin, from the little piece where the thread goes. Clear as mud?!
