Advice Please? New machine needed

Hello ladies! It has been too long since I've been here, so long I forgot my info and had to create a new account! Never again will I wait so long.

My old, cheap Brother machine died on me in the middle of a project and I am looking to get a new one since both my interest in quilting and my sewing in genereal have picked up. Unfortunately I only have about $200 to spend on a machine. I also have all, I mean all, the Brother feet due to a very generous lady from this quilting board, so I'd like to stick with Brother if I can. I've heard that the CS6000i is a decent low end quilting machine. Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I've seen quite a few quilt board members make positive comments about this machine, and the Amazon reviews of it are good also:

Just so you know, the brother feet are interchangeable with Babylock. Just in case that widens your buying options.

Do you have a Costco card? They have a Brother Sewing/Quilting machine for $169.00. It comes with the detachable table - and I am not sure what all else - for some reason it keeps kicking me out. But then I was not signed in at the time.

Ok after my problems with my old Brother and reading up on problems with the CS6000i, I think I may want to look at different brands. I had horrible tension issues even with high quality thread and the correct bobbins. I had really bad bunching of the top thread on the back side. Expensive when you're using high quality thread as it's a problem that's not always noticable right away. Anyway, that my new insight.

ania755- Did you put in the right model? I haven't been able to find a brother RX65 to look at.

I purchased a CS6000i Brother about 4 years ago and have used it at least twice a week since. I loved this sewing machine so much and was afraid that it would not last as long as I wanted it to so I just ordered another one from Amazon for $144. I just love that it has an extension table and a walking foot included with the machine. I just can't sing enough praises about it. I sure hope the new one coming will be just as reliable.

You should not be having that kind of issue with brothers I have used low end brothers for over 2 decades and never had tension issues on any of mine.

Thanks for all your help ladies. If there's anyone else out there who uses/has used a CS6000i who might have some input?
