Much improved. Before the change, I saw party hats riding waves, and black fish flying across a backgammon board.

Now I see boats on top of waves, and a banner , and black fish flying through white sky. It's very imaginative and I think your colors make it feel whimsical. Maybe they're ice cream sundae boats! What could be better at the seashore?

I just love the additional row! Agree a small flag might be nice but if it were me, I'd be shouting...done, done and done! Love the color, the story, the movement and the whimsy of it all!

...applique a mast in center of each triangle..gives a better illusion of sails...but adding the boat bottoms does give it a better definition......

I like your revision very much. In the first, just the triangle did not say boat to me. You don't want to get too realistic as your design is stylized, not realism. I like your colors, too. If you want to add the mast, I would just applique one, but in your revision, the boat idea is clear.

It's funny how we all see different things. I see ice cream cones sitting on top of the waves. Maybe with a mast going up through the sails I might see it differently. Regardless, it's going to be a fun quilt.
