Has anyone used a fine tip black permanent marker on their quilt? Mine will be just a wall hanging - not washed often)..It would also be used just to outline one side of a design to help with shadowing. Appreciated the responses

I sign all of mine with a permanent marker.

I have a set of them that I use all of the time.
I heat set them with a dry iron :D:D:D |
(big smile) Sweet...Thank you

(visions of border stenciled marker designs - painted translucent shadowing dancing through my head) lmao
Gawd I have to finish these promised quilts so I can start on my wall hangings! |
Hey taylor
When you heat set the maker design, do you iron right over it or through fabric? |
I have used both the Pigma pens and the Sharpies for signature quilts, and both work fine. Use a hot dry iron and press right over the marked areas.

Thank you (making notes)

I use them to sometimes cover up white thread that I used in seams on darker fabrics (too lazy at the time to change thread). I've never had a problem with it bleeding. I do iron over it after I'm done.

That's a great tip (covering thread) thank you jan
