Advice for quilting a star quilt

I started a BOM years ago that is FINALLY ready to be quilted. Each block is a different star block. Any thoughts/suggestions on how to quilt this? I don't want to take away from the design of the stars, but SITD sound so boring to me! I would have included a picture, but I have to go to work in a few minutes, and every time I try to attach a picture to the boards, it takes me about an hour to figure out how I did it last time!

It would help to see the top, but I would SITD around the stars then quilt in-between with some type of filler. If there are setting squares, then a star pattern in them would be nice. Sounds like fun!!

in addition to gammalou''s suggestion, perhaps you could quilt a star in the center of each star if they all have a center block.

You don't have to STID if you don't want to. If you feel you must, then only do the bigger outline as STID and then you can create an individual design for each star and then have the background be more consistent with what you want.

I like my quilting to be a 2nd design on the quilt to draw someone 'in' to looking more at it - sometimes it's just an expansion of the quilting pattern, sometimes it draws off of one or more of the fabrics, and sometimes it's specific to the recipient of the quilt and still other times its something totally random that i Like.

You can always do something fun in the negative space of the blocks, sashings, borders, and just SITD your actual stars.
