I'm going to suggest that you wait until you have layered the quilt to do the satin stitch. The batting should act as a stabilizer. Obviously this works better with a fairly thin and dense batting such as warm and natural or a polyester of the same weight.
I will be using a fusible craft batting. The last time I used W&N on a project like this, it refused to FMQ for some reason. Thanks. Watson |
Sounds like a good plan. I would love to see a picture of what you plan to do. I just use loose leaf paper or copy paper as a stabilizer, lots less expensive than stabilizer. I made a monster quilt for my GS and used the paper as a stabilizer it worked perfectly.

I would put up a picture or a link, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to? Does anyone know?
It's a link to an artist's website. Watson |

After reading all the rules for posting pictures, I think this is OK. This is a tile sculpture by Paula Horsley of the UK that I will use as my inspiration for a wall hanging.
