African fabric

I am searching for some African cotton prints to make a wedding quilt and I wonder if anyone is familiar with Voguefabricsstore.com? Their prices are very low ($4.99/yd) and I wonder about the quality. My thoughts are to make a Stack and Whack pattern - I am interested in and would appreciate your thoughts or ideas.

I took a quick look and their quilting cotton was all $11.99 a yard. You might do better with stores that specialize in quilting rather than fashion.

I have about 8 or 10 different African fabrics, would you like to see some pictures?

I'd love to see the pictures. Thanks. I did find some animal prints on Fabric.com, but I'm also interested in some of the colorful design prints.

I bought all my African fabrics from Fabric Shack (except for the elephant batik). Not sure how much they will still have in stock. I saw something similar and drew this pattern on EQ with my own measurements. It has been sewn and I need to start piecing a backing for this charity quilt.

You don't necessarily have to use African theme fabric to get that look. I made the below pictured quilt with some African prints and many fabrics that had the colors I was looking for and mixed them all up for a very African looking quilt. You can find closeouts at hancocks of paducah here:

I did searches by colors on many sights using orange as my main search. It took me about 6 to 9 months to collect the fabrics for this quilt. There is a huge mix from traditional calicos in tans and browns, batiks, geometrics and fabrics marketed as specifically "African". Every fabric in this quilt I got at a close out price.

Feline Fanatic,
That is a beautiful quilt and really does speak Africa. Thanks for posting it. Thank you to the others also who have suggested sites. I really love this board and all the wonderful ideas and tips that I've learned here.
