I have a huge stack of quilt magazines. I know I have an older magazine that has Alex Anderson's Holiday Lights pattern in it. After thumbing through countless magazines, I can't seem to find which magazine it was in. Do any of you know which magazine and issue that it was in?

I don't have time to make one now, but since all the holiday fabrics are now on sale, I think I'll buy fabric and make up a kit to do next September. Alex now sells it as a separate pattern but it's a shame to buy it when I already have it.

I searched and found this comment on her site:

Holiday Lights - remix

You know what I mean when a pattern has stood the test of time? Blocks like log cabin, sawtooth star and yes even Sunbonet Sue might come to mind. But check this out - About twenty years ago I designed this pattern for my late friend Margaret Peter's book, Christmas Traditions from the Heart. Then When my friend Joen Wolfrom (TQS show 103) started her publishing company JWD Publishing, we decided to have this quilt made again (thank you Elizabeth Scott) for my first of many patterns with her (to order go here). Yet ONCE again we have made it using Whisperings by P&B Textiles. I thought you might want to see the finished result on my design wall..

Maybe you saw it in a book, isntead of a magazine? Or, if nothing else, maybe this will give you a time frame to search. Good luck, it is an adorable quilt.

This is one that I've been working on for a while now...I'm not known for completions...I've seen it in an older book that may be the one previously mentioned but the background used scrappy blacks/darks to look like nightscape...nice, but not as cheerful. If you just need fabric requirements to shop while the shopping is good, let me know and I'll dig out the pattern...I have the JWD version. I'd recommend using the TriRecs rulers rather than the templates that the original uses...very little difference in overall appearance and sooooooo much easier. I really need to finish that quilt...hmmmm

Oh, yes please. No rush of course, but if you would PM me the fabric requirements, that would be awesome.

You know, Murphy's Law says that right after I get the requirements from you, I'll find the patternin my magazines. I've been thumbing through them for days... and I've started from the top again, re-thumbing through... I'll let you know if I find it meantime... thanks

I'd check the archives for P&B here
