All of this lint!!! Is that just how it is??

I just finished a quilt for my son to take to college with him. I am very happy with how it turned out. I have a cobalt color minky on the front and navy flannel on the back - masculine I thought. I really do like how it turned out.. except that there is lint all over the back. Its like the flannel is a lint magnet. I thought after I washed it the lint problem would be gone.. but its not. The flannel backing is all covered in lint. Is there something I can do?

I think a big lint roller will do the trick. Dark flannel seems to breed lint and hair. Did I read not to use laundry softener or sheets with Minkee as it will cause lint? Or something like that.

Yes when I wrapped tape around my hand it did pull off the lint. I may have to look care on minky to see if I should not use the fabric softener. Thanks

Minky needs to run through the dryer before final sewing process. Which means if your are cuttng minkee (cuddle is similar) you need to run those pieces through dryer before piecing and after cutting. I am guessing that the flannel is a lint magnet. I recently took a class with someone from shannonfabrics.com and was told to not use liquid softener but sheets ok.

I think a sticky lint roller should probably do it.
