No one could accuse me of being quick. This one has been on the go for a long time, but Australia Day is a holiday and it was very hot so I stayed home with my airconditioning and sewed this up (it is still in two pieces, for assembly)
Oh those points- I wish I had been more careful with my cutting! This is the second block I have completed for this quilt, which needs either 12 or 12 and 2 half blocks, depending on how I set it. They are all different. Should be ready before I retire..... |
Oh wow! Beautiful

great job, it will be beautiful when you complete it
|
that is beautiful. What is the pattern? Unless you said in your post and I missed it. I wouldn't mind doing that
|
Wow I love the colors keep up the good work.

very pretty, (p.s. I have one of those projects also) I really like your pattern.
|
Wow, it's beautiful! What pattern is this? I kind of like to have a long-term project that I can slip in between other things, gives me a break and a stretch from time to tiem.

Your block is beautiful. I have seen clocks made using a quilting block with the fabric portion serving as the background for the hands; I was thinking how perfect this block would be for that as well of course as a quilt. Just a thought. Looking forward to seeing a pix of your finished quilt!

Love it!!

Thank you all for your encouragement and kind words!
I found this block in a lovely book called "Material Obsession Two" by Doughty and Fielke. All the quilts in the book have a best buddy, because both of the authors designed one around each of the ideas. So this block is in Erika's Honesty and in Jazz Hands. I haven't fully decided which one I am making yet- it changes as more elements are drawn in. But for now I think it will be Jazz Hands. There is a photo on the one in the book here on Flickr- isnt it just yummy?!!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/3613940...7614999183896/ |
