Does anyone have this? Is it worth the money?

I bought one of these some years ago, after having watched a demo at a quilt show. Mine is a previous incarnation - simply called Quilt Cut. Looking at the current version, I'm not sure what's different. I put mine back in its box and I'm too lazy to get it out.

Don't get me wrong, the thing DOES work well, and is accurate if done properly, but I've found it to be a lot more trouble and way more time consuming than just plain old rotary cutting with a ruler.

If you want my old one, I'll sell it to you cheap. *G*

I have the "2" version but don't know/remember what the difference is, either. I think it would be very useful for minis or folks that work with lots of fat quarters and smaller pieces of fabric. Clamping yardage down into it and then cutting what I consider normal size strips--3-5" is too much work but if I was doing a scrappy or fat quarter style quilt with the fabrics all ready cut into 1/2 yard or smaller size pieces; it is great for holding the fabric & ruler steady while you make cuts especially in multiple layers at the same time.

I bought mine to cut up scraps with but haven't actually used it for that yet. I also like all the preset angles on it. That alone makes it useful to cut wedges & triangles of all the major angle configurations and saves money on templates, specialty rulers and the confusion of flipping, flopping and twisting your regular ruler around to get the right angle.

I love mine. Arthritis has taken all the strength out of my hands and fingers. The QuiltCut helps hold the fabric so it doesn't slip, and I can concentrate on cutting.

I have the Quiltcut version. I love it. Use it usually when I'm travelling and quilting. I don't have my big mat, table, all my rulers then and it really fills in those things. Usually my husband helps me then too and he loves the accuracy of it.

Oh my! I had no idea my offhand offer to unload my long unused Quilt Cut would generate such interest. Several of you have left me PMs, to which I shall respond in a few minutes. Promise!

But there's the tiny problem that I am a newbie and from my reading of the rules and guidelines on this forum, it seems that I'm not supposed to be selling anything until I'm a regular, which can't happen for a couple of weeks. I don't want to get banned from this fine place already!

Perhaps one of you who has been around a while can advise me how to proceed here?

I have one, I needed something to help with accurate cuts. It's okay but I still had messed up cuts. My pieces were always off cut to cut. It's very heavy and made to last. The mat is high quality and the fabric holder is nice. I have it out on my cutting table and use a regular ruler not the guide that come with it. It's expensive and for a little more you can buy the Go die cut machine which I have now and have accurate cuts every time.

I have the original and use it all the time for cutting...
