Click on demo to see the video demo. It was about 209.00 when I bought it, don't know if that has changed. It does so many different cuts, for me it's well worth the cost.

If I understand your problem correctly, the cutting guide has a black dot that you line the metal gauge to for the size of the cut you want. After you make the first cut you line the gauge itself to the edge after each cut. Oh... I am so bad at explaining, I hope this helps. You should watch thier video a few times and see if that will help with your problem.

I had the Alto vendor show me how to cut and use the guide. She told me I was trying to be too exact. It was okay for my cuts to be a smidgen off. They are more like 1/8" off. I use the mat and board but not the guide anymore.
