Welcome to the club. The longer you are a member, the more projects you will have in your head----and your sewing area!!! The fabric, patterns, books, tools---it is all so addictive. But, what a fun addiction it is!!!!

littlehud 10-14-2008 12:46 PM

I was told by a lady at my quilt shop you are a quilter if you are binding one quilt while piecing another and cutting another and planning another, all in the same month. Wow, I have found something I excel at.LOL    . OK, I'm littlehud and I am a fabric addict. ( and I love it )

I am STRESSING about if I will have enough squares and time for Davids quilt and I couldnt go to sleep so I got up and started cutting the other night....getting ready to pin 20 squares together so I can be sure.
LOL I am searching for neon green & blue fabric a we speak. I really have to buy online being almost 2 hours from Amarillo and the local quilt shop I have been in 5 times.

I am glad to be in such fine company

marthad 10-17-2008 06:42 AM

Think about it this way=====What a MARVELOUS problem to have! To always have images of quilts running through your head. Thinking about all those fun projects, dreaming about fabric, what beautiful and exciting thoughts--kind of like being a kid thinking about your birthday, Christmas, or some very exciting event to look forward to. Sounds like a guarantee for being happy. Glad you have the fever!

Kara 10-17-2008 07:00 AM

ummm... I would say so.

The addiction happens quickly. Before you know it, you're buying and hiding fabric, because if anyone REALLY knew how much you had, they'd commit you....

Katrine 10-17-2008 07:16 AM

Know the feeling - I even have pads of squared papers & pencils everywhere - coffee tables, dining table, bedside, by PC, handbag, car - just so I can doodle quilting & blocks

Alaskan lady 10-17-2008 05:41 PM

Your pretty normal if you ask me. Yup...... Your definitely one of us!

GailG 10-18-2008 04:43 AM

Yup, sounds like you're a quilter alright. We ALL have been there, done that. And it goes on and on. Since I've hopped onto this board, I've got quilts in my head in the worst way. And I've made 3 new tops and am working on the fourth. One of my friends asked who all of those quilts were for. I told her it was for the kids to decide after I "go."

Oklahoma Suzie 10-19-2008 06:22 AM

You've got it bad....just like the rest of us!

Sallyjane 10-20-2008 12:13 PM

Yep, you've got it! When I first started quilting, I would not allow myself to buy fabric for the next project until I finished the one I was working on. But....I had several projects in my mind. Then I got to thinking, what if they sell out of that special fabric. So... then I allowed myself enough fabric for three projects ahead. Well, at the end of the year our little quilting store has a year end clearance sale. I forgot my rules.

Now I have a wonderful stash of fabric to pull from and one quilt waiting for binding, one quilt that needs the backing, quilting and binding, one that needs a boarder, backing quilting and binding all on my work table. Oh, I am also working on a swirling stars on parade - I have 3 out of 12 blocks done on that.

I confess - I am an addict. There could be a lot worse things to be addicted too, right?
