I also changed my mind about ordering SEVERAL items from
Amazon because the item I was ordering was 10 of those
"purple thangs" at a cost $1.65 each and they
wanted to charge $6.28 for shipping on EACH item.

I just found that Purple Thang on Quilting-Warehouse.com for 2.69 i did the estimated shipping for 10 of them to me and the shipping was 5.55. I think this is a pretty good deal if you can't get it locally

I'm with you. Tell me the whole cost - so I can decide on ordering or not... That double shipping is SUCH a rip off.

I would have canceled the order too

With todays economy what do these venders expect!!? We come to them for a bargin and they turn the tables on us. So far I've been lucky on my online orders, thats why I try to keep a few online stores in my favorites and go back for the same good service. Nope, you're not cheap, just a wise shopper! Keep your cash and spend it where you can really find a bargin!!! Good Girl!! :D

I too am "economically wise" when it comes to shipping. You did the right thing and handled yourself well. I would love to see an uprising take place when vendors charge a flat rate shipping for each individual item.

I would have canceled too...and the shipping price is usually more than what they, the company you're buying from, are charged...

Yes, I would have cancelled too. I would also have looked at their shipping policy for that offer and if it was as you thought, I would have emailed a copy of the policy to them along with the cancellation.

All you have to say to them are the words 'This is false advertizing' you have knowingly and willingly decieved buyers- that will get them hopping

I have to agree, and add the fact that "shipping and handling" makes me crazy in general. Too many times I have found that the "shipping" charges were about half of the value of what I ordered! Something that actually cost the seller $2.00 to ship--somehow equates to a $5.00 shipping charge. I don't get it!

so much of this stuff is junk. they make their money on handling charges. most people won,t spend the money to return this stuff.
