Amazing!

I recently started quilting again and my quilting stuff was kinda all over the place but contained if you know what I mean. Finding my fabric, thread and rulers and some other quilting stuff was relatively easy. But I knew I had some other things that I hadn't found. Tonite I found a whole pile of things that I knew I had but couldn't put my finger on them. I found my placemat tool caddy full of needles, timbles, sewing machine needles, tapes, rotary cutting blades all new. A baby quilt already quilted ready for binding and that was there too all ready to sew on, my Bargello quilt 3/4 finished ( couldn't believe that there was 45 fabrics in it) along with the border fabrics and binding fabric and pattern. Also found the pattern for the big quilted bag I made just before I stopped quilting that holds a cutting mat, long ruler 24" and you could put a huge quilt in there too. I feel like a kid in the toy store. Things are finally coming together in my little room.

Searching for things is a way of life for me these days. It is a good feeling when you find the lost item. Glad you found your toys, now it is time to play.

It is basically a placemat that you sew different sized freezer bags in the middle and add handles and Velcro to close it. Hope the picture helps it's really old and used

Welcome back to quilting. And thanks for sharing the placemat tool caddy. I've been thinking about something like this to keep all my applique tools/supplies in one spot (I currently have 4 small pouches of "stuff").

fangman 01-30-2014 08:08 AM

I think that's great.

GrammaNan 01-30-2014 09:16 AM

I recently went through a similar situation. It was like Christmas! I am still finding things and am having a lot of fun. Congratulations on returning to quilting.

Whenever I straighten out my sewing area and fabrics, I sometimes feel like I have gone on a treasure hunt as I will always find something I'd been looking for, something I forgot I had and sometimes a finished or nearly finished project or too. Almost makes it worth cleaning doesn't it?

How much fun you have had finding your new treasures. It is like looking through the tubs of fabric and realize how much special fabric are awaiting me. lol Enjoy yourself rediscovering quilting.

IBQUILTIN 01-31-2014 01:06 AM

Welcome back to quilting. I am sure you are going to fall right back into the joy of touching fabric, and taking one piece of fabric apart to put back together with many other pretty fabrics to make a new piece of fabric to place on the wall or on a bed. Good luck locating the rest of your treasures

twinkie 01-31-2014 02:53 AM
