Just got an ad from Amazon selling fabric. Really pretty ones $8.98 a yard. Others less.
Never saw that before.

I hadn't seen that, but am not surprised...you can get almost anything on Amazon! I often look there first because you can sometimes get free shipping and the best price.

I love Amazon. I buy so many items there- they do seem to have everything and their service is excellent!

Amazon owns Fabric.com

Just in case you all don't know, you can sign up for amazon mom (you do not have to have little ones) and you get 3 months of prime shipping for free. I'm pretty sure a lot of things like fabric aren't eligible for prime shipping but a lot of their stuff is. After you sign up, if you buy qualifying items it will extend your free prime. Mostly it's baby items but a lot of other stuff is also eligible to extend it.

I have sold charm packs on Amazon.

Thanks Lori. Had no idea. I really enjoy their site, their fabrics and their customer service. It's a great company.

I can hardly believe that Evil Steven would sell his beloved company out to Amazon...how strange...

Mmmm? Evil Steven? According to the article, Amazon bought Fabric.com in 2008, so we're just a little late on the news :)

I bought some Kaffe Fassett prints from Fabric.com through Amazon and was very pleased with the service. I rarely buy fabric online but if I can't find it locally or need something very specific, I'll gladly buy from them again.

yes, I quit buying from them around 2005...Evil Stephen suddenly learned about the QUILTING industry and his fabrics went from $.99yd to $9.99 yd....I helped launch his online store in 2000, even had my own email addy and bs cards to help promote him...never got so much as a thank you....by 2004 he was really into the quilting world...his prices soared on fabrics he once sold for less than $1.00...it was fun at first to see him grow..but then things just changed, all greed driven he seemed...and while WE the people promoting him through online forums, yahoogroups etc, were helping his bs grow, he was always flaunting his family vacations, etc...It got old really fast...

In the article it says he still owns the fabric.com name just that amazon HELP him get more fabric now..imagine that...always using somebody..guess that how it works though...

but that was 2008..I mainly see Private sellers selling fabric on Amazon now...so not sure the Marriage withstood the tests of time and E-commerce!
