Does anyone by chance have a pattern for an Amish Lone Star Quilt? I've been looking for one and haven't had much luck. Thanks in advance! :D

[b] :) My suggestion would be to look it up and google some sites. I think I have seen one, but it has been awhile.
Good Luck HJ |
Here's a site with some patterns.

Thanks you so much for your help. :-)

I'm guessing that it's one of those "secret" patterns that you cannot actually buy. They have "sort of" patterns, but not EXACT ones.
I'm sure if you looked at the quilt close enough, you could figure out the pattern |
I totally agree and am trying to do just that. It may take me awhile, but hopefully I'll be able to figure it out. Wish me luck! :D

Hi there, just had a look on a site I thought I saw one, have a look at www.freequilt.com/star.htm, there are loads of free patterns for all types of stars including the one you want I think.
Good luck, I think they are beautiful but just don´t have the patience to do one. Elle |
There's a pattern called....Australian Bush Quilt. I saw it one time and fell in love with it. I showed it to a friend of mine and she liked it too.
At the time, we kept teasing each other about some fabric we each had. It was Nortcott (my fav),blues and yellows. The fabric is soooo soft! Anyway....we would tease each other and say that if the fabric didn't hurry and get used, we were going to take it and make something. Well, that Christmas, are all exchanging gifts....we would have a sort of neighborhood party...we all got along very well. Anyway...she hands me the quilt! It's the pattern IN the Northcott colors! I was in awe! She said it took her about a month to figure out the pattern. I'm sure it's not exactly the same as the ABQ, but it looks great to me! Funny thing....I was always at her house. She had the shady front door and we would just watch what was going on in the neighborhood, and I never saw this being done in her garage (she converted her garage to a sewing/activities room) |

Hi HJ, Thanks for the offer of the snow but just like to remember it. Although it is so hot where I live we still have snow right on top of the very high mountains it is really weird to see.
Glad you found that site okay, think it might be helpful. Can you get out of your house? Where in this World are you? Those strawberries sound real nice. Elle |
Thanks for the site Butterfly, one that I didn't have

Have you ever heard of Denver, Colorado USA? I am in Rapid City, SD, about 350 miles north of Denver. Tourists come here to see Mount Rushmore National Moniment. Go on line and see where I am. :)
I am able to get out of the house in spite of the snow, however, I suffer from an illness called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and it pretty much rules my life, so I don't quilt as much as I once did. The illness has reached epidemic staus in th USA. It isn't contageous. I am the only one in our family that has it. Take care. HJ |
:) Found this wonderful site earlier this AM. They don't have patterns, but show several Lone Star quilts. It would be worth your while to check it out. Be prepared to spend some time looking at all of the quilts done by the Amish.

Hi there, aaahhh so sorry about the illness which I have not heard of before, these things can be so debilitating, so I am going to send you a bit of sunshine to brighten up your life which should pop up below.
I have heard of Mount Rushmore, but will go on line to see exactly where you are, I am about 45 mins away from Malaga where I fly out of to go to England to see my kids (2) both grown now. The Amish sure did wonderful quilts. I saw a beauty and must see if I can find the site again the colours were out of this world. Have a good day. Hi HJ I looked at the Amish site and WOW are they not wonderful. The prices, well of course I liked the most expensive, but then I would. They are very beautiful though and to think of all that hand sewing just makes my hands ache. LOL

Wow Butterfly! If that was my village I would never get any quilting done, because I would always be gazing out the window!

HJ My oldest used to live in Rapid City, well...actually it was Ellsworth AFB. I used to visit there alot. One of my favorite places to go was the winery up in, UGH!! I forget where, but you had to drive past the exit to go to Mt Rushmore. We would go there all the time when I visited. Loved it there. Even got to see the fireworks, which were awesome. Keystone is a great little town, we did some of the gold panning, but didn't find much. lol My daughter used to work for United Mileage Plus there. That's how I got to go visit her all the time. Loved the perks! ;) |
The Amish Lone Star Quilt that I looked at on:
www.amishcountrylanes.com is made up of small diamonds. They make an eight piont star. I don't know if this is the one you want or not, if it is let me know, I have some quilt books and I might have the pattern in one. |

:) You town is absolutely breathtaking. Reminds me of Greece. I have never been there but have seen documentaries on it. When I get my inkjet refill in my computer, I will copy these pictures. So serene and comforting. Have an awful time getting the refills in slot.
Thanks for sharing these photos - I am in love with Spain! |

Glad you liked the pictures of Spain, it is beautiful and tranquil, we just don´t ge the traffic on the roads as in England, After an evening dancing (we go to classes for Latin American and Tango Argentine, we come home and are lucky to see 3 cars on the road. However that doesn´t stop the Guardia Policia stopping you to either check your car or breathalise you.
Just about to start back on the quilt I was making before we heard the news of the new Babe, just need to stitch all the applique on which is a job and a half as its a big quilt. Goin to treat you some more to Spanish Life and show you some Fiesta pictures from last year. Elle By the way its lovely to write to you all, I really enjoy learning about things. Hi HJ, posted some pictures of one of the fiestas, think its in the Amish Lone Star to "COLEANGEL" so you will see some there. Here are some more of one of the many Fiestas just in our Village. Enjoy
Even the horses are decorated and they all sing as the procession travels right through the village and down to the Coast Some lovely your girls in their dresses Here is the Statue of San Juan being delivered to a shrine in the village pulled by the bullocks who normally work in the fields |
Yes, G-Maw, I believe you are correct in the eight point star. You just increase the point around the outside to the size you need for the size of quilt you are wanting to make. I appreciate all the help I can get! Thank you!
