First let me say a big THANK YOU to everyone that responded with the Janome information I asked for. I sent it all to my aunt and she has what she needs now. I knew ya'll would have the answer.

Next: does anyone have a 6-pointed star pattern? I am trying to work my way into tumbling blocks and I noticed that if you look at it just right that you can see 6 pointed stars instead of blocks. I have had extreme difficulty with getting the skewed diamond shape just right to do the block ... can't get it large enough for me to start and can't get it cut right to finish. I figure if I can find a pattern for a 6-pointed star then I can try that angle. I am so in love with the tumbling blocks pattern that it just drives me nuts not being able to make it.

Or maybe I should ask if anyone has any directions on how exactly to make a skewed diamond with one side being at least 5 or 6 inches. I do not do well with smaller pieces.

BTW: if anyone is curious that picture in my avatar is me 30 years ago with General Omar Bradley before he died.

the diamonds for 6-pointed stars are cut on a 60-degree angle.

try this one as a template.

I just KNEW there was a reason I love the people on this board. I have yet to come up with a question or problem that someone didn't have the answer to. I now have my large skewed diamond to make my 6 pointed star with and end up with my tumbling blockks design. THANK YOU oh great one!
