I have so many seam rippers and other than the one that came with my Viking, they all were mediocre. After looking at what made the Viking one so good, I was able to see the tip was a lot smaller. So I took all the rest out to my sander and carefully sharpened it. Voila! I now have many good ones!

Great idea! That explains why I like to seam rip with my Exacto knife.

The tip broke off my seam ripper. My DH took his dremel tool and sharpened it for me; WOW, better than when I bought it. Whenever one dulls or I buy a new one that is not sharp enough, I will have him sharpen them for me. GOOD HUBBY!!

Great idea..I often wondered why I would only be happy using a certain seam ripper and now I know.and great idea how to fix it..

Just have to be careful when they are so sharp because it is easy to go through the fabric..I know from experience..

A quilter with a sander - dangerous combination! lol
