Another use for batting scraps

I had batting scraps that were too small to zig-zag together for a "frankenbatt", so I cut them up into 2 inch squares and use them to remove nail polish. Two of them stacked together do a fabulous job; much better than a cotton ball. Nothing need go to waste!

Oh, thanks for this tip, I have even thrown away that small but no more. Even if the fabric is on the batting from glue basting and when you trim the quilt on all sides you could cut those in small 2 inch squares and use them. This is great idea.

Quilters are so resourceful! My husband and son have used my batting bits for cushioning special hand-painted miniature figures they keep in boxes when not in use. I was happy to share...there was plenty to go around! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/boy.gif

I love the polish remover idea, and I use any scrap as filling for kitten mats for the local animal shelter.

I cut mine up to use with my Swiffer. The pieces too small for the Swiffer become dusting cloths. Now, nail polish removers! Terrific idea!.

I started keeping miniscule scraps because I was making kitty beds last year and ran out of stuffing so I dug out batting scraps. Now I save them on purpose because I know I'll be making more beds to donate to a local rescue group.

A perfect use. I will no longer be throwing away those little pieces. I have been saving them for pet bedding at an animal shelter but I can no cut the pieces even smaller and still have the left overs for the pet beds. Thanks for the great idea.

I gave some of my polydown scraps to my sister to use for her holiday decorating. We all have small log cabins that my dad made for us and we use the scrap batting to make a snow yard for the cabin and also for the snow on the roof. She also uses strips of the batting to tuck around one of her doors in winter to keep the drafts out as they do not use that door during winter yet the batting would just fall out if they needed to open that door in an emergency. I have also used my small scraps for dusting....dust and throw! I still end up tossing some. Three bags of scraps is enough.

I also use the very small scraps with alcohol to clean my quilt machine wheels and the rails on the frame. As you say no scraps go to waste.

What great ideas! What size do you make the kitty quilts.
