How smart of you! If only I could use your idea on some ceramic tile repairs I need to do! LOL

I've used my mat and ruler for this purpose before, but not my rotary cutter. It does look like you are using a utility knife like I did! :)

Are you using a utility knife? I would be afraid of chipping my ruler. I have used an old rotary cutting blade and my big ruler to cut wallpaper.

OH a few more ideas I can use my stuff for ! Thanks for sharing..

Great idea, looks great!

That is great! When my DH first saw the tools of the quilting trade, he started thinking how great it would be for cutting gaskets, etc. I got him his own set so he wouldn't wander into my quilting room & "borrow" my good stuff!! I have an interesting story about my turkey baster, but that's for another day!:)

Way to go! We are a clever lot are we not?

And if the floor/wall meet isn't as square as it should be, the ruler will tell you how much it's off and let you replicate the "off-ness" on the next tile. Oh, good show!!!!! Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
I bow to the expert. Thanks, Pat |
Hope you now know that utility knife cuts are FAR less apt to self seal (if at all) than rotary cutter cuts. Next time use the BACK of your mat. Same goes for the fancy edge rotary blades...use the back of the mat. Voice of experience on both.

Ya'll are so sweet with all of your encouragement.

Does a great job when you're trying to fit laminate flooring too. Just redid all 4 bedrooms in my house.

If my mat doesn't clean up it is ok 'cause: (1) I did it, (2) It kept DH & DSon from cuttin' on the tile that was already laid, (3) It was an old mat anyway & a good excuse ta git another one! Again Thanks so much for all of your support! |
