I went to wm today ofcourse I have to visit the fabric department. I can't buy but I can look and touch. LOL!! As I was looking at the FQ's I noticed they had what looked like jelly rolls but they were called slices. They are 2 1/2 inches by 42 inches, am I mistaken but isn't that the size of a jelly roll? Anyway they are in pretty colors and are only $10.00 a piece. Why do I have to be broke!!!! LOL!!

How many pieces were in each? That is the approximate size of a jelly roll strip, though (2.5" x WOF.)

They may have to call them "slices" depending on the maker of the fabric - I think Moda came up with the name "jelly roll" others call them noodles

They probably call them that to keep Moda from suing them.

Tuesday Morning store in my area sells the same slices (jelly rolls) for $7 and the fat quarter bundles for $6 or less. It's the same name, same prints, same manufacturer. Each TM store has different inventory though. I bought one jelly roll and the fabric is cut accurately and seems to be okay quality. I'm not to fond of the colors but it makes great bindings!

Depending on the number of strips in the bundle, it would be the same as a jelly roll.

Some companies are hesitant to call their strip products "jelly rolls" because originally the Jelly Roll was a specific product made by a specific maker, IIRC it was Moda.

So there are lots of names for the same thing, including Bali Pops (Hoffman), Fabrications (Blank), and several others.

They probably don't have the legal rights to call them Jelly Roll.

Hobby Lobby is also carrying these same rolls, I think theirs are called Jellies. They have a decent selection of prints and Batiks. They were $10-$12
