The difference in sizes is as much as 1-1/2 inches, but as I explained, none of them can be trimmed. I got a recommended book (Setting Solutions by Sharyn Craig) and added to the blocks, using a similar white muslin. Now the quilt, which would have been more like a wall hanging in size is now pretty much a queen size. I'm quilting the top now and hope my M-I-L will like it. I also hope that this will be passed down through more generations. It breaks my heart when quilts are not considered heirlooms by family and are thrown away. I'll try to remember to post a picture when done. I'll be adding a label to include the names of those who made it and those who kept the block intact and passed them on to the next generation.
Thank you all for your great suggestions! What a great group!

I would sash them with some a soft color that complements the colors in the blocks and then off set them so they are not in a straight grid layout. I like Barb in Louisiana's idea too! :)

I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished!

I like the idea of setting them on point. Quilts are so interesting when they are done that way and the size variance wouldn't be as obvious.

That is the book that I was going to suggest. I have done lots of swaps and estate sale buys. I agree with most that adding a boarder and sashing would work great. Or an alternating block set with a plain block.

I think this project was on a Facebook page this morning. I LOVED how you did the final project with the triangles on each side. There is no noticing that the original blocks were a problem. This is so pretty with the colors that were used. You did wonderfully well. Congratulations! Great save.
