Hi, I am new on here. I have a questions from anyone who knows. I have 2 old quilts one in the 1800s or earlier. and one in the 30' to 50's. the old one has the most damage and the other just needs a binding. The old one needs binding and one whole block. and few. little sections. Not very pretty but old when I told my husband I wanted to hang it one a wall. He freaked out. "Not on my walls" I told him that they were my walls too. but anyway , if any one knows how I can best do this project. I would be very greatfull.

We have a wall in the hallway that is about 16 feet high. My husband has told me that is my quilt hanging wall.

I do not know about restoring them, but I would wonder about hanging something very old. It could stress the stitches greatly.

I thought about that too. Perhaps hanging them on a rack neatly folded.

The best place to display a quilt is on a bed if you have a spare one. It is very important that you keep it out of direct sunlight as it will fade it and cause it to rot eventually. Perhaps you could check with your local Historical society about finding someone to appraise and or repair the quilts.
