Any first hand review for Babylock Allergo?

I am thinking of getting a new machine. My dealer has a good sale on Babylock right now. I test sewed on it but I would like reviews after a few years of sewing with it.

I don’t have any experience with this machine. If you look at the accessories, the extension table matches the Jazz. Are they the same machine with different names? Looks like it sews really fast according to the spm specs.

There are numerous feet available for the machine.

Did you take a quilt sandwich to try for the demo?

I've been wondering the same thing. I don't really need a new machine for piecing or quilting, but it would be nice to have the extra space to the right of the needle for when I'm working on large fiber art pieces and want to play with decorative stitches. It seems to have more stitches than the Jazz and it costs about twice as much. $1299 versus $699.

I purchased mine online before they were released to the stores in November. I paid $1100.00 no tax charged and free shipping. I absolutely love it, the big throat space is amazing. It has a lot of nice features and was easy to learn how to use. I free motioned a quilt today and it worked great.

That's a great price for the size and speed.

That much speed with a plastic bobbin basket seems like a bad idea to me. I'd buy an extra bobbin basket or two.

You could also get a Juki 2010 or similar for about the same price. With a metal bobbin case and cutter. Lots of great reviews on those.

I have a Juki straight stitch machine. The thread cutter had to be taken off, the dealer repairman couldn't fix the issue. And the very same thing happened to my Brother 1500 I had before the Juki. Both machines started freezing up solid if I used the thread cutter. Both had some years on them when this started to happen.
