Does anyone have this book?
Quilting Dot-to-dot Patterns for Today's Machine Quilter by Cheryl Barnes I saw it on Amazon. I am wondering if it is a good book for a beginner to free motion. Does anyone have a favorite book for learning FM? Off topic: The path of Ike has change enough that we are not going to evacuate. It did make us get all of the coconuts off the trees and clean the carport. :-) |
Don't have any suggestions for FM - would also like suggestions. Glad to hear you won't have to evacuate.

I watched Lorraine Strangness do machine quilting on QuiltersTv. Her book is called Magical Machine Quilting.
I am going to buy it when I get the bucks. |
I found these two books helpful:
"Pathways to Better Quilting" by Sally Terry "Machine Quilting Solutions" by Christine Maraccini Judy |
Thank you everyone!

The book Machine Quilting Solutions is wonderful! I use it quite often. It was one of the first ones I bought.
Another one I really like is Just Leaf It by Kim Stotsenberg. The are two books by Suzanne Earley entitled Meandering Magic and More Meandering Magic. i have not purchased these DVDs yet but a great gal named Patsy Thompson has her own line of DVDs for free motion quilting. I think her wesite is patsythompson.com or try goggling her name. Her website has some video clips on free to watch. She is fabuous! When I first began free m otion quilting, I learned the more I practiced with paper and pen first, the better my quilting looked. I also use my son's Doodle Pro board/MagnaDoodle board to draw on. Hope that helps! |
