Any idea if we can make this ourselves
 

I saw this on Nancy's Notions and wondered if anyone has come up with something we might already have that would work just as well? The budget it tight and I'd hate to waste money on this if there is something I might already have in the house that would work just as well. My cutting mat is showing signs of age and needs cleaning and this looks fast and easy.

A friend got some spray adhesive on one of my mats and my husband got it off with a scrubby from the kitchen. I would think that I'd try something like that first. $12.00 sounds a bit pricey to me.

I'm with Boston1954 I have used a damp towelling rag and an offcut of kitchen scrubber to clean mine. Says its a natural product, I'm guessing its rubber or maybe natural sponge??

I use a white plastic-type art eraser. a bit messy, but I think it works well to get batting bits out of the mat.

What about using a Mr Clean Magic Eraser?? I thought I had read this somewhere. Mine needs cleaning too.

Usually by the time I notice my mat needs a good cleaning, other then a lint roller swipe, it's time for a new one. I learned to always use an old mat when cutting batting or turn my good mat over.

Looks like this might do the trick, and you can clean your countertops with it too.

I'm not sure what is in that product but I have used this tutorial to clean mine and I was very pleased with how well it worked.

I use a scotch-brite pad on my cutting mat and it works great.
