Any one familiar with this quilt? In love and looking for the pattern!
 

You wouldn't really need a pattern. It's a star block and a nine patch variation set on point. It's really pretty.

for the alternating block (uneven 9 patch?), use the same star pattern, but substitute a plain rectangle for the flying geese units.
The blocks are set on point.

This would be an easy quilt to make without a pattern. Break it down into rows. Look at the rows diagonally. One row is a square, flying geese, square, square, rectangle, square, flying geese.... The other row is flying geese, square, flying geese, rectangle, square, rectangle, flying geese.... By looking at it it appears the rectangles are twice the length of the squares. The border squares set on point take care of the edges. Beautiful quilt.

I rarely use a pattern for a quilt as I enjoy dissecting the whole into manageable elements.

I agree that a pattern wouldn't be necessary - but I love the colors - very cute quilt.

That is a very pretty quilt using the pastels.

The two blocks are drawn on 4x4 grids

One could "easily" make finished size blocks in any even number.

It does take some practice to be able to "see" how something is assembled and how to draw one's own pattern.

Sometimes it is just easier to buy the pattern and to follow it.

There is a ruler available to make the setting triangles you can buy at a quilt shop. No math that way.

I really appreciate everyone's feedback! I am still pretty new to quilting so I have never attempted something without a pattern! Maybe this will be my first time! I will practice first by drawing it out and go from there. Thanks for all the great help! :)
