Any other names for this pattern?
1 Attachment(s)
I saw a picture of a quilt and drew this picture of it in EQ. I then searched Google to find out the name. I found this https://media.rainpos.com/5217/calyp...ush_studio.pdf
I've seen this pattern many times and Calypso does not ring a bell. Does anyone know it by any other names? TIA |

A variation of 54 Flight or Fight comes to mind.

I don't know the name of the pattern, but I quilted one just like it several years ago.

I love that pattern. It gives you the illusion of circles w/o having to do them. Beautiful!!
Sorry I don't know the name. |
I also thought of flight 54.

As JanieW said Eleanor Burns had that pattern on her website, I just finished making it

Thanks, everyone. I, too, thought of 54-40 or fight, but it is not really that. I love EB.

There is another variation of the same called Emily's Wedding Quilt by Liz Porter.

Jordan Fabrics has a tutorial, pattern called Roundabout. Love it.

It is Calypso designed by Jean Ann Wright using a combination of star blocks and shoofly blocks. https://media.rainpos.com/5217/calypso_pattern_for_paintbrush_studio.pdf

Beautiful quilt and your quilting is nothing short of fabulous!
|
I really like that - very nice !

Storm at sea? It uses a variation of the 54-40 or Fight block, as this quilt does.

You'll probably get as many names as folks posting. It's a really old pattern so it probably has a dozen names. But it sure is pretty.

I checked the link to the beautifully quilted one that Feline Fanatic posted above. That one was pieced by GrannyW5, who stated in #31 on that page that it was called "Aura". There seem to be almost as many names as quilters, but it sure is a pretty design!
