Hi fellow QBers-
I just bought 2 yards of the following Michael Miller fabric to make a extra long twin size quilt for my 13 year old grandson's room. I like the large scale print, and I could even use it as a panel. I thought about using a "piano key" border that really looks like piano keys. His walls will be tan and he wants music posters displayed. Any ideas? this is about a 12 square coordinate I found online |
Love the fabric and can't wait to see what others come up with. As for me, I have nothing. :-(

I would just do 12" squares.... put sashing to left and right, then strips between them top and bottom in coordinating color...tan, gold, grey??
Then do the piano key border around the sashing and done! Simple, quick, and makes good use of what you have without too much detail. If you feel ambitious, set the blocks on point. I've done a lot of charity quilts with this "pattern" and folks seem to really like them. The pattern makes good use of busy fabric. |

Nice fabric! How about a ten minute block? Here's the link-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbTHlGGKMPM You could use colors from the first fabric in a blender or small print as your center in the ten minute block. Please keep us updated and pics when its done , please. :-D

You might want to consider picking up on that light blue, just a little, like a thin folded inner border, then the piano keys. I think it needs a little contrast. Good luck.

What awesome fabric. Whatever you decide it is going to be great.
