I am almost done making the blocks for my MIL's birthday quilt. (Her b-day is in December, so I think I'm doing good!) Soon I will set them on point, which I have never done before. Any suggestions to make it easier for me? I have the directions from the "Take 5" book, but I always value your knowledge; it has never let me down! Thanks in advance for all your help! :-D

Just follow the directions and I'm sure you will be fine.

the only suggestion I have is to be careful when sewing the setting blocks on so you don't accidentally put one of the "on point" blocks up side down... ask me how I know this... :?

I've made several and I am not a pro by any means. Just follow the directions - it goes together in rows and once you start laying out you will see the pattern emerge. Good luck and post pictures!!

I don't know what your pattern looks like, but the one I am working on is on point. I put the blocks together in strips and then put the strips together, starting in the upper left corner and working down to the lower right corner. Is that how your instructions direct you to do it. Do you have a picture?

I agree. The setting triangles will have bias edges, so handle them with care. If there is a final border, this would be one case where you want to measure your quilt and cut your border to match.

if you have extra fabric, cut your setting triangles larger than instructed, it gives more wiggle room and you wont loose any points :D
