I need to make a quilt with 3 fabrics that are for a college team (Go Huskers!). It will be a red, white and black quilt.
Have any of you made something not too complicated, but that would be fairly nice looking? It will need to be a lap sized quilt. I am leaning toward a "Twister" quilt, but am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance! |
That should be really nice.
A D9P can also look great with 3 colors. |
Road to Oklahoma would be a great block for three colors. But the Right Hand of Friendship would be more appropriate.

BQ 1, 2, or 3 would be nice and easy if you have one of the fabrics that would look nice in a larger block. They are produced by Maple Island quilts.

GO HUSKERS....I grew up in a small town just outside of Omaha, that was incorperated into Omaha's city limits a few years ago...so sad! Been a fan since the 60's!!!!!
A Twister would be great using reds, whites and blacks with the Nebraska logo fabric for the borders.....maybe a block or two of the logo stuff in the quilt body but because it is so-o-o-o-o expesive, I would save it for the borders and just go with several different shades of black, reds and whites. Will look GREAT jodi in leavenworth |
Disappearing 9 patch would look great with only the logo fabric in the 4 corners of the 9 patch. Would take less than doing a border. Many Nebraska fabric stores carry the husker logo fabric any more. Out of one yard you can get plenty to help make a lapsize quilt.
Happy sewing from another Nebraskan. OOps, read some more of the posts, I like Julie's idea also!! You will get plenty of ideas from all of these talented people. :-D |
You could do the strip tube quilt from Cozy Quilts, easy to do and great use of the colors, plus you could change the color selection on the blocks for a different look. I like the twister, too.
