I'm making a quilt for my husband using pictures of his chickens but thought on the setting squares I would like to embroider (redwork) a large simple rooster. I figured I could easily find one in a coloring book but have had no luck. I figured maybe some kind-hearted quilter who can draw would e-mail me one? All the ones I find have too much detail. Thanks in advance to anyone who gives it a shot.

Misty.that design is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks, now can you find her husband for me ?
And to jcizzard, those are adorable but I don't have an embroidery machine but I may try to applique some to look like those. Thanks to everyone helping me.

Just find one of the other chickens and copy the cone or comb I don't know which it is called and add it to the chicken . That's all you need to do. If you have problems with it let me know and send me your e-mail address and I will see what I can do.

In addition to the "cock's comb" you may want to augment the tail for the rooster.

A great source for applique and redwork "patterns" are coloring books or coloring sheets. Do a google search for Rooster Color Page and see what you find. Barb C

Don't forget that the waddle below the beak is larger on a rooster than a hen not just a larger comb.
