I have the 770QE and that thing is a monster! Very big, very heavy. I didn't get the embroidery module bc that doesn't interest me.
I can't imagine how big the 990 is and the price? WOW |

Took my two Janome's in for repair last week to a shop that specialized in Bernina's. One of the clerks there was working on a sample pattern of how to do leaves as a quilting pattern on some sort of stablizer....she tried to "hook me in" and showed me all sorts of samples that she had already done. The price was out of this world....told her that amount of money would make a good down payment on a new top of the line car that I would use more. These machines are probably great if you own a quilting business and can use the expense as a tax write off, but not for me. I'm more of a piecer than an actual quilter and simple quilting patterns work for what I do. Almost dread going back to pick up my machines when they are ready.
I was given my grandma's Bernina many, many years later when she could no longer sew. Overall it worked well, but eventually stopped working. The Bernina place said it is either the mother board or some part deep in the machine, both problems cost a ton to fix, so I didn't fix it. I still have it though as it has so many precious memories of my grandmother and me together tied to it. |
