I didn't see any references to it in searching the board. It starts this month so I thought I'd ask. Do tell.

Here's a link to it:

I think it's the second BOM of three (correct me if I'm wrong). Last year's was gorgeous. This year's BOM honors the women left behind. Specifically Generals' wives.

I'm doing this one. I got my center block, but haven't opened it yet. It looks like it could be challenging, but my LQS is having a "tips" session each month to go over construction details.

I have started this, but I missed the first BOM. Do you know where I could find it?

Here's a pic from this board of the Civil War Tribute BOM completed:

Keepsake still has it. I didn't see it at my usual haunts.

Love the fabrics.

This blogger posted a pic of the new BOM's first block.

Homestead Hearth has two other BOMs I like.
A Mother's Gift

Thank you!!!!. The links and pictures really help.

I found one similar at Quilter's Cache called Pineapple Star. It's paper pieced, but by drafting & adjusting the star points to be the middle section and setting it on point, I'll have block one.

Just got my first block set on Friday. I'm almost done with it, hopefully I'll finish it when I get home tonight. I'm so excited!!

I'm doing this one. IT IS a little difficult. I messed up my first block, but there is enough material to do a second one which I'll be starting tonight.

I love the Civil War quilts! I really should take the plunge & sign up to do one.

wow the fabrics look so much lighter than in the pictures I saw , its going to be absolutely beautiful...Did they give you plenty of fabrics or did you have to be super careful? Which shop did you get it from?...I am getting mine from a shop in Kansas..I know the fat Quarter is going to be doing it,,,I am doing the Mystery BOM right now from there and they give tons of extras,,,Yours is sure looking stunning! thanks for showing us,,pls keep posting all the new blocks!

kails 09-08-2011 05:36 AM

How did you make the HST?

Fred487 09-10-2011 04:30 PM

HST were made with Triangulations.

Fred487 09-10-2011 04:31 PM

Daisey - I have run out of fabric so you need to be careful. Got mine from Log Cabin Quilts just outside of Omaha - mail order. Go visit my quilting friends there.

daisey 09-10-2011 06:34 PM

Thanks for telling me...I think I changed my mind about doing it,,,we had a sewer line break at it cost us 15,000 can you believe it! Well keep sending pictures its beautiful...I am doing the mystery quilt from the fat quarter shop they send so much extra fabric you can make extra blocks if you want...Good Luck!

Anybody still working on this quilt? U started late on it, had to dig down deep to find the courage for So Many half-square triangle? I an now sewing the first three sets together so it looks like The Early Fred 487 picture. Got the fourth month cut out, though. Like to know if anyone else still doing it. Thx.

I am doing this quilt as well. Last year we headedto Gettysburg and the quilt shop was doing this. She sent me all the blocks by Christmas. I am on month 4-5, they are done just need to sew them to the topper. Not sure how to quilt it. Would love to see everyones quilt that is done.

scrapbeagle 01-08-2013 09:47 AM

Okay, I am really a late starter! I just received my first BOM for the Civil War Chronicles and I am already overwhelmed. Did I bite off more than I can chew? I would consider myself a confident beginner and the instructions are a lot to take in at first. Do any of you have any pointers?

Debbiesc 01-07-2018 06:09 PM

I love this quilt and all of your quilts pictured are beautiful. Can this block of the month be resold, I would love to find the pattern if it can, thanks ladies
