Try overstock.com for your wonder under, fusible web and batting. You will be surprised, pellon and most sold as a bolt cheap and 2.99 always shipping.

And their prices are really going UP. I was there Saturday to see a free mug rug demo using a Pellon fusible (Pellon has so many, the gal giving the demonstration didn't even know which one she was using so she gave me a 2 inch piece to compare with all the rest). That particular fusible was $6.99yd .. I thought that was insane even with 50% off. Guess I'm getting to be an old penny pincher! Back to the HeatNBond lite, I use alot of it for my fabric postcards and was so disappointed that Joanns no longer had it by the bolt where I could get it 50% off. So I ended up buying it at Joanns online (I think it was a 5yd+ pkg and I got 2) but they didn't accept the 50%off coupon. Don't know why, but was happy to get my fusible. Where do you buy Wonder Under and or HeatNBond lite? |
Joanns here don't have heat and bond just wonder under and I don't care for that one! They only seel Pelon products now!
|
I buy Heat n Bond off the bolt at my Joanns.
|
Everything I need I get at Wal Mart or Hancocks. Wal Mart has a lot of things you may need and at a reasonable price I might add
|
Shopping at JoAnn's is a bit of a game and, to be honest, I'm getting tired of it. Yes, coupons are up, so are prices.
|
You guys that have a walmart that carries fabric etc are lucky. Here in metro Atlanta walmart discontinued fabrics.

I buy it from Walmart. The Heat and Bond lite is usually in a package. The Pellon is on the bolt. The Walmart here has the fusible fleece, Insulbrite, and Warm and Natural on the bolt and just about all the Pellon products. I keep a big stash of each. It's cheap there.

I buy mine on line, sometimes @ Amazon and I can't remember the other website!!! But check other places online!!!!

I had the same experience this week with Joanna's and HeatNBond. The gal that worked there said she was sick about it because she used it all the time. So I went to Hancock's and it was on sale for $2.50 a yard. I asked her if they were going to discontinue it and she said not that she knew of. I bought 3 yards, I think I'll go back and buy some more.

I think I bought my last wonder under at Hobby Lobby. That was in Oct. Not sure about the other brand.

I too share your frustration at not being able to buy Heat and Bond from a bolt at JoAnns. I typically buy a bolt of it every 15 months. Buying it by the package is way too inefficent. I also noticed the pricing of all the bolt interfacings... One type I also purchase by the bolt has more than doubled in price in the last year. It went from $1.99 per yard to $5.99 per yard. I think it all relates back to their coupon gimmicks. I beleive they assume you will be using a coupon.

i get all my fusible products at JoAnns using the 40-50% off coupons. I use the Steam A Seam light unless I am looking for a stiffer product. For purses I usually use fusible batting. For embroidery by hand I use a really soft, thin, lightweight fusible fabric (cannot remember the name). Love it though and it prevents your stitches from showing through. I get it at OverRainbow.com. Comes in black and white

Also wanted to add that those postcards are really lovely.

If you think of the fusible you use for embroidery, please try and post it here or pm me or do you think I can figure it on on the site you posted? I tried some Pelion this week and really didn't care for it...made my fabric feel thick and rubbery.
